RPG Group Chairman Harsh Goenka recently entered the online feud between Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal and comedian Kunal Kamra. In a humorous post on X, Goenka remarked, “If I have to travel close distances, I mean from one ‘kamra’ to another, I use my Ola,” along with a picture of himself on an Ola electric scooter. This witty comment followed a heated exchange regarding Ola’s service quality.

The spat began when Kamra shared an image showing numerous Ola electric scooters parked at a service center, raising concerns about the company’s customer service. He questioned whether Indian consumers deserved better treatment, emphasizing the scooters’ importance for many daily wage workers. Kamra urged users to share their experiences, indicating that issues with Ola services were widespread.
Aggarwal responded sharply, suggesting Kamra’s comments were a “paid tweet” and challenged him to come help improve the service instead of merely criticizing from a distance. The exchange escalated as both individuals continued to trade barbs, garnering public attention and sparking conversations about accountability in the electric vehicle sector.
In light of the public outcry, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) issued a show-cause notice to Ola Electric. The notice cited multiple consumer complaints, including manufacturing defects, issues with refunds, and poor service quality, requiring a response within 15 days. Following the initial drop of over 9% in Ola Electric’s shares due to the online feud, the stock saw a slight rebound, increasing by 5.11% on Tuesday.
